Very interesting video - thanks for sharing! A lot of work has been done here in Wisconsin as to the influence of German (and other immigrant languages) on the English spoken in Wisconsin today. A recent article (http://benjamins.com/#catalog/books/slcs.123.02rem/details) dealing with phonological analysis on Wisconsin English and Wisconsin German shows influence going both directions (i.e, German has influenced Wisconsin English and English has influenced Wisconsin German) - so it's not just uni-directional. And there's still more research to be done in this area!
